85th Year Foundation
The members of the 12th/11 Hindu School Scout Group of Second Calcutta Bharat Scouts & Guides Association celebrated their 85th grand out-door programme on 6th January 2008 at Presidency College Campus (Hare School Ground), College Street.

The event was started right at 5,30 p.m. as per schedule. The ground was fully illuminated with different coloured light and it looked like the Garden of paradise, which created extra attraction to the spectators present on the arena. A good numbers of spectators about 500, including cubs, scouts, Rovers, Bulbuls, Guardians & Rangers were present to witness the eventful programme.

With great sorrow we recorded have that we lost our programme president Dr. Pratap Chanda Chandra (Former Central Education Ministers) and our ex-members of our scout group just 7 days before of our programme.

In place of Late Dr. Chandra; Dr. Jothi Pralcare Ghosh, Former President, W.B. Board of Primary Education & Former Principle of S.A. Jaypuria College tool the charge other distinguished great were present such as Sri Tarak Das Majumder, Head Master; Sanskrit Collegiate School) Sri Suresh Sur, Senior Advocate, Calcutta High Court and Vice-Presidence of second Calcutta District Association and many others.

The attendance of the ex-students was slightly less this time. We hope next year this will be erased out by overwhelming response from the alumni

The programme was inaugurated by Sri Snashis Sur and followed by Dr. Joti Prakash Ghosh and others, ex members of the group and present.

After the inauguration, all the guests present on the stage were honored with Celebration Scarf. They were welcome & honoured by The Grand Howl by the cubs.

After the inaugural speech, the colour party proceeded for flag break after the prayer song.

After flag break a colourful procession by Cubs, Scouts, Rovers, Bulbul, Guides and Guides passed in four of the stage.

The programme began with an item 'Mahisasur Mardini' depicting the tale of the 'Asura' being killed by 'Durga'. The play was so interestful and entertaining that all the spectators cheered the performens. The scouts of the group per formed it.

After that programme, the cubs of the group was shown an ? cub meet which contains soul and entertain games, which follow by different pioneer project such as tent ?, Camp lay-out, camp show, signaling. They also entered a towering Monkey Bridge with a spam of 32 feet. The scouts crossed over the bridge. Scouts were shown how to rescue ? person, and catty the ? person by cycle structure.

After that Bulbul and Guides of Second Calcutta District Association presented colourful dance, which enjoyed by all the people were present.

After that programme proceeded and it was found that the enter dark arena was illuminated with unconventional lights. It was essaying a magnificent spectacle. 85 'RANGMASAL' were lighted at a time.

There after camp fire was lighted by four torch bearer coming from the four directions - North, South, East and west and reciting four different versus before placing the blames our Scouter Sagar Sen, District Commission (Scout) declared the campfire open. The cubs, scouts, and Rovers of the group gather around the campfire circle and sang? campfire songs beginning with 'Dur-Se- Sumo-Pukar'. After the song Adhunik Ramayana was displayed with music, which was enjoyed by the all the spectators, The Progamme ended with National Anthem at 8.30 p.m.

The old members of the group those were present in the occasion congratulate the present cubs, scouts, rovers and Scouters of the group and let the field with great dial of satisfaction.

The group members also celebrated 'Swaraswati Puja' like the past on 11th February 2008. Members of the group arranged entertaining campfire in the evening. Guardians of the cubs and scouts and family members of the old scouts were enjoyed that.
