Hindu School has celebrated
the Saraswati Puja with profound dedication on 23rd January,
2007. The occasion was a perfect blend of pomp, devotion,
dignity and youthful creativity. The enthusiasm of the current
students was rewarded by the prestigious prize for "best
thematic platform". Another prize from PARLE group
is expected.
The Puja Committee has taken some new initiatives this year
and they were well appreciated. The decoration was splendid.
The mandap (platform on which the deity was adored) epitomized
a quiet and innocent village. The place was adorned with
twigs and magnificent paintings.
An exhibition was also organized in the first floor of the
school building. Seven rooms were allotted for this and
each room followed a particular theme and topic. The best
and mostly admired was "Saraswati: Kaale- Kalantore"
which primarily depicted the history, evolution and customary
changes in the method of worshiping goddesses Saraswati.
TV Channels like Star Ananda did a full coverage of the
evening cultural program, held in the school compound.
The attendance of the ex-students was slightly less this
time. We hope next year this will be erased out by overwhelming
response from the alumni
Saraswati Puja in the year 2007 has become even more special for Hindu School and its students for the fact that, Parle has awarded Hindu School where schools from all over West Bengal took part. This is yet another feather of pride for Hindu School and its students. The School has won . The award giving ceremony was broadcast on television by ETV Bangla on 4th March 2007 from 10:30am.
