Hands Meet - Bangalore 23rd November,2008 |
23rd November, a day to walk, down the Memory Lane. The place was Bangalore. The day began with lot of excitements but the poor weather and rain was playing the spoiled sport. Schedule was at 11 AM. We all were ready to go and feel our own HINDU SCHOOL again. Only thing, we didn't wear the Uniform, there was no tension of home work, No school bag and may be for first time we were praying to God for no RAINY DAY! Rain stopped but we didn't. After all the speculation and negative vibes it was a great gathering for all of us at BANGALIANA, the famous Bengali Cuisine Restaurant located at Koramangala. Yes, for a day this was our school, our meeting point.
We know nothing comes in comparison with our school; principally
no way a restaurant can be the substitute of our school
ambience. In fact it was contrasting with all aspects. There
was no Bench, no Black Board, No teacher, no smell of Coffee
House, no noise of College Street Book Market. But what we
had that was our feelings for our school, our eternal bond
to our School Culture, our respect to a Great Institution
which helped us to overcome all the odds and we all felt
like being in 1B, Bankim Chatterjee Street.Kolkata-700073
In spite of all the Rain and bad weather everyone came sharp on time. The best part was the enthusiasm. Starting from Mr. Kanchan Chakraborty (75' HS Pass out) to Mr. Abhishek Dutta (2004 HS Pass Out) everybody was thrilled to be part of this get-together. The funniest part was, everyone was busy to recognize his batch mate and comparing the current with old Photograph stored in memory. Few of us put on the weight, few put off, few lost Hair but one thing is unchanged, that is friendship.
We were there to make fun, to enjoy the company of each other, to be nostalgic, to make other nostalgic, but all were concerned about the responsibilities as ex Hindu School Student. Our plan for the meeting was to make a common platform for all those former students who miss their school till date and to provide the platform for existing students to have a healthy mindshare. Apart from cherishing the old day's memory we came across few valid points during discussion about the future objectives and tried to make a roadmap to achieve our dream.
